Capper Profile: Freya

German Shepherd, Female, 9 years old, up 17.2 units in 2025

Freya was adopted by Buckets 9 years ago. She was the only surviving puppy out of her entire litter. When Buckets went to visit her, she was living outside on a concrete slab covered in her own waste. Buckets was going to just say hi and see the puppy, but he instantly knew that she would be joining his little family. The next day Freya, originally named Red, was sitting on Buckets’ lap driving to her new home.

She was a very timid pup at first. She was scared of her surroundings, and took lots of time to adjust to all the new things. Sounds, tastes, smells, feelings. She spent her first night sleeping on her first dog bed at 9 weeks old. It wasn’t easy, but the bond that Buckets and Freya developed grew each day. Throughout that first year they learned to trust each other, and learned that no matter what happened in the future, their future was together.

Freya, being from a tough litter and being underfed, had a whole mess of health issues that continue to this day, but none of those things have stopped her from being the capper and mascot for the Bucket’s brand that we all love to this day. She’s gone through multiple surgeries, health scares, and diet restrictions that might crush the spirits of others, but never Freya.

She’s now 9 years old, living her best life, and spends her free time making people thousands of dollars with her soccer picks, and going on hikes with Buckets. She still is the quiet and timid dog she was as a puppy, but she’s no longer alone and never will be. She will never fully know the impact she’s had on people's lives, but that’s okay, she’s just happy to be apart a loving family!
